Why is making a tomboy look and act ultra girly so hot? I know the fetish is called tomboy taming, I just find it curious that such a thing can be so sexy. I’m guessing part of it has to do with the domination aspect, but I think there are other factors at work too, like how the attraction is intensified by contrast and surprise (sort of a “I didn’t know you could be so hot” kind of reaction), not to mention a general attraction to femininity itself.
 
Would be interesting if an episode tackled the idea of Rainbow Dash learning that you can be feminine and still be cool. The story could have her lose a bet, much like this picture here, forcing her to spend one whole day looking and acting girly. After some awkward interactions, Rainbow Dash worries about her reputation, and gets pointers from Rarity on being feminine with confidence. RD learns to embrace her feminine side, and goes from awkward and embarassed to awe-inspiring and eyecatching. Stallions want her, and mares want to be her. Rarity even gets the idea to recruit Rainbow Dash for a performance, adapting the alias of “Rainbow Dazzle”. “Rainbow Dazzle”‘s performance speaks of her newfound appreciation for beauty and femininity, and turns out so well that she becomes a celebrity overnight.
 
As it turns out, maybe a bit too well. Everypony can’t stop talking about Rainbow Dazzle, and seem to have all but forgotten Rainbow Dash. RD worries that everypony will forget she was ever anypony but Rainbow Dazzle, and starts to take up her old tomboyish pursuits like buckball and Wonderbolt training in an attempt to remind everypony that there’s still a rough, tough tomboy under the dress. However, ponies start treating her differently, holding the door open for her, greeting her as “Ma’m” or “Miss”, even attributing qualities such as “delicate” to her. Even the Wonderbolts start treating her differently. RD feels that’s worse than being laughed at; embarassment dies down overtime, but now that ponies and other creatures have seen Rainbow Dazzle, they prefer her to Rainbow Dash, and won’t let her be anypony else. RD decides the time has come for drastic measures, and gathers her friends to discuss her next move.
 
The next Rainbow Dazzle performance turns out quite differently. A thunderstorm gathers, epic rock music plays, and behind a cover of smoke and fire, Rainbow Dazzle transforms, changing from a pretty dress into a cool-looking outfit with lightning bolt patterns and makeup. She sings a reprisal of her theme from earlier but now with lyrics reminding everycreature of who she truly is, while battling mockups of past villains formed from clouds. During the performance she switches back-and-forth between pretty and cool. She concludes the performance with a sonic rainboom, clearing the skies, revealing her to be wearing a fusion of the two outfits, a dress with lightning bolt patterns, and the song ends. Everycreature is speechless. At first RD’s friends worry that the performance was a flop, but then the audience begins cheering and applauding.
 
A few fans ask RD why her latest performance was so different, and RD gives a speech to her audience that she learned an important lesson from her friend Rarity, that it’s okay to be feminine, pretty, and even girly, and that you can still be brave, confident, and strong. But she also wants to emphasize that being feminine sometimes doesn’t mean you have to be feminine all the time, nor should anycreature expect you to be. With that said, RD announces that she’s no longer performing as Rainbow Dazzle because that persona doesn’t fully represent who she is, nor does she want it to define her. RD declares that being confident in yourself is more important than whether or not you look and act feminine. Will she put on a dress now and then and act more girly? Sure, and look dang good. But no matter how girly she looks, or doesn’t look, she’ll always be Rainbow Dash.
 
As the presentation wraps up, Applejack sheepishly asks Rarity if she could give her a few lessons as well.
 
Alternatively, the episode could tackle the idea of AJ and Dashie both learning to explore their feminine sides, though AJ at least seems a tad more comfortable with femininity if Apple Jewel is any indication.
