It… kind of makes sense since Cozy Glow probably did some damage before she was stopped and Hasbro does have a habit of airing EG specials directly before a new season starts. So maybe this takes place in between seasons 8 and 9 and will air like a month before the latter begins next year.

It doesn’t mean that she was intending to send it to the EG world, however. Remember that magic is leaking there from Equestria anyway so this is probably a side-effect.
