“Do you trust me?” Frost Bite asked to the ever so quiet Mystical. Her eyes squinted, for the pale purple fruit bat pony was covering the moonlight from her view. His hoof reached out to her.  
The pale unicorn looked at his hoof, then into his golden eyes. They had no fear, no doubt, but instead, trust. It was as if Frost Bite was handing Mystical his trust. His question laid before the mare who stood before her. She lifted her hoof from the ground, leaving the comfort of the warm earth leave her. Instead, she felt the warmth of another object: Frost’s hoof.  
As if she was a princess who has been lifted off of her hooves by a prince charming, she found herself latched onto the bat pony’s back. Her hooves were wrapped around his neck, avoiding contact with his leathery wings. Her side laid across his back.  
Suddenly, she heard two large wings span out to each side of Frost Bite’s body as he took off from the ground as a whole. The unicorn closed her eyes tight as she left the safety earth leave her hooves. Frost Bite simply flew up towards the beauty of the night sky with the love of his life secured on his back. He carried many things on his back as he flew, before, but he never knew that he would carry a mare tonight. She was heavy, he wasn’t gonna lie, but it was nothing this bat couldn’t handle.  
He may have seemed calm, but on the inside, he was surprised, scared, and excited all at once. He was surprised he was able to convince the skeptical Mystical to fly with him. It was a dream come true for the both of them… He was scared that he would break the unicorn’s trust. He was scared that Mystical would hate him after this. He was scared that his love would… Get hurt. If anything happened to her, if she fell… He would NEVER forgive himself. Ever… But he was also excited. He was excited to see what the night had in store for them. For what their lives had in store for each other. After everything Mystical went through, she deserved to know what love felt like. She needed to know what it meant to have someone love her. Frost Bite wanted to be that someone.  
With each wing flap, Mystical knew the were getting higher and higher off the ground. It was her life long dream to fly, but she never knew her dream would cause this much fear.  
“You know, if you keep your eyes closed, you’ll never see the beauty of flying,” Frost Bite told the unicorn.  
Wait, what?! Did he want her to open her eyes? Was he crazy? If she saw her surroundings, she would get scared, and possibly fall off his back. She may have done some bad things, but she wasn’t about to kill herself tonight! Why did she even agree to fly with Frost Bite, anyway? It’s not like he really cared about her.  
“I thought you trusted me…”  
His warm voice… how could she say no to his pleads… she had to do this. No backing out now… It took a lot of courage to squint one eye to see the grass flying fast below her. One eye opened, and before she knew it, both of her red eyes were scanning the houses below her and diamond sky above their heads. The diamond sky… She was… Flying. Mystical was flying! She was actually flying!!!!  
Mystical, the unicorn who wanted to fly, was actually flying! It was such smooth flying too! The moonlight reflected off of Frost Bite’s face and made his warm eyes glow. Everything about Frost Bite was warm. His hoof, his voice, his eyes. He made her feel safe. She looked into his eyes and he looked back with a calm and loving smile.  
“Happy birthday, my Mystic…” Frost Bite smiled, flying past the cast of civilization and over the peace of the open sea.  
Mystical smiled… Just a little….
