First off garble is older than Spike by a few years nothing major just enough to give him the edge, second off Spike doesn’t really have any experience fighting others before, and 3rd off that’s like comparing fighting a large, strong, but stupid predator when you’re fully equipped to fighting a sentient creature twice your own size when you’re under equipped. Yeah not really a fair comparison so yeah of course he couldn’t take on garble when he could take on the Roc.
