What you put forth about Tempest saying to Pterus she trained with his mother would be a good story, and your training bit is good too. I’d also like to see an alteration where she vows to protect him from danger as long as she lives. Wonder what kind of lessons she’ll teach to any ponies who see it as an atrocity for a bat pony to be adopted a prince.

I just realized: The two times we’ve seen Tempest in the Royal Sketchbook so far, she had been joking with Vulpa after training and they were talking about how Pterus was doing. They seemed to have been friends and not just two members of the guard. That also would explain her kinda sad expression here.  
It will be interesting to see if she and Pterus ever met before. It’d be super cute if he remembered her visiting him and his mom and called her Aunt Tempest or something. On the other hand, a “Your mom trained with me. If you ever want to become a guard like her, I’d be honored to teach you a few things.” moment would also be pretty emotional. (But probably only once he’s a bit older.)

It’s not actual canon. This is an alternate universe where anything can happen that is not completely relevent to the actual show. Twilight and Luna have become a couple, and adopted a bat pony.
 
The only reason why they are stating that Tempest is a guard is because of the armor she is donning. She does not carry the sigil of the Storm King on it, she carries the combined sigil of Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna.
 
She was a Commander of the Storm King’s army in the movie. In this reality, it seems at the moment, she is a personal guard to Twilight and Luna’s family, which I wouldn’t say is a bad gig.

What’s with this mass headcanon that Tempest becomes a guard? Didn’t the S8 premiere specifically say she left to spread word about the Storm King’s death?

Pterus expecting his uncle to be a pony of some sort, than he sees his uncle is a dragon, and probably hearing stories about most dragons in the past, Pterus’s first impression is that Spike is a dragon that is gonna hurt them. Then, Twilight reveals that Spike the Dragon is “his uncle”. Knowing that, he would think it’s exciting to have a dragon for an uncle. With a ferocious dragon on his side, he would think bullies would think twice before messing with him, otherwise, they answer to the wrath of his uncle. Pterus of course, doesn’t know that Spike is not like most dragons.

Worsthorse is an intergalactic abomination and should be removed from this plane of existence. The fact anyone actually gives a character from the movie the time of day makes me very concerned for our very SPECIES.

I forget, is there any art pieces out yet that explain how Fizzlepop Berrytwist/Tempest Shadow came to be a guard for Twilight and Luna, seeing how she has their combined sigil on her uniform? If so, can you point me in the right direction?

Daaw. Pterus is cute when he’s shy. Kind of reminds me of when I was a little one. Round 4 or 5. I think I’d react just like Pterus if I found out I had a dragon for an uncle or aunt, when meeting them for the first time. Than I’d think it be awesome, cause anypony messes with me, they may just find their manes a little “extra crispy”.
