Twilight only knows one pony who is as crazy as she is. They also been bunk mates, study mates and was master-apprentice for what, at least two years now.
This ain’t about finding the “perfect” headmaster. This is Twilight, once again, doing whatever she wants. Her school, her rule.

And THAT’S why I don’t find it funny. That kind of blatant disregard for the sake of it is so mindbogglingly annoying that I’d rather listen to Jehovah’s Witnesses when they come at my door.

It’s funny because they are ignoring the part where Starlight over and over again proves her resourcefulness, helpfulness and loyalty to Twilight throughout season 7 + premiere of season 8.
Twilight isn’t offering this temporary job to Starlight at random.
