If I remember right, one of the writters from Equestria Girls, stated Sunset isn’t much older than the rest of the Mane and Human 6, like 2 years, which seems to have been reset by the portal.
Assuming 1) the EqG universe works on similar school-to-age progression as ours, 2) the Humane Six are not graduating yet, and 3) Sci-Twi is super smart, she’s probably 16…

I wouldn’t know how much is ‘double’, my guess is that she’s around 8 years older than princess Twilight.
