This sort of thing (i.e., finding a prime in order to circumvent restrictions on publication) has already been done; look up the illegal prime and illegal numbers articles on Wikipedia for details. I merely extrapolated from there… and then thought, “It would be my luck that significant advancements in number theory will end up getting made because of paedophiles.” So, because OP is to blame for sparking the discussion that resulted in that delightful line of thought I felt it only just to share the misery.
 
Specifically, the discussion of real vs. cartoon got me to thinking about realistic cartoons, which led to the thought of art indistinguishable from the real thing, which led to the thought of how censorship will prove pointless once we reach that point, and the pointlessness of censorship led to thinking of the old deCSS debacle and illegal numbers. That in turn led to the thought of paedophiles trying to avoid getting caught or arrested in the same way, which led to the thought of paedophiles actually having to get math degrees to advance the state of the art in order to fulfil their sick desires. And the process of writing this paragraph detailing my trainwreck of thought left me thinking about how eventually neural networks will get advanced enough that it becomes possible to generate child porn.

I think you really hit the nail on the head here, the difference is that real child porn has victims. Foalcon (or even straight up lolicon) has no victims. It’s a drawing. People need to get over it and learn the difference between fantasy and reality. If a bunch of people fap to foalcon/lolicon instead of going out and molesting a kid, isn’t that progress?

There are prime numbers that when written to a file are identical to a picture. Is this prime number now illegal? What about previously fine prime numbers that, since the advent of a new file format, are equivalent to CP? Can you imagine a future where paedophiles are doing their best to advance math and computer science simply to take advantage of this fact, so that one day they can pass CP around simply by quoting prime numbers at one another. What happens if one of these numbers ends up being really fucking important, like a universal constant or something?

Well yes, that is true. A person looking at rule 34 of MLP characters isn’t technically engaging in bestiality since, you know, that would require screwing an actual animal.
 
Same applies to rule 34 of under-aged characters. Looking at it doesn’t necessarily make a person a pedophile since it’s all drawn and fictional anyways. That being said, given the subject, I can’t blame people for feeling disgusted, uncomfortable, or having a knee jerk reaction to this sort of thing regardless. I know I do with this sort of thing. I have my filters on for this type of stuff in any booru/fansite I go to so I don’t have to see that.
 
But to continue where I left off, looking at actual child porn or having sex with actual children would make them actual pedophiles. (And those sort of people should be persecuted for such a thing given how vulnerable and impressionable children are. Considering how their minds and bodies haven’t fully developed yet, they can’t consent.)
 
However, pedophiles who haven’t engaged in either and just simply have attraction to children should go seek counseling, therapy, and the like so they can prevent themselves from acting out on such attractions in the future.

Like if we get rid of the “18 = adult” concept of law, we don’t actually finish our physical development into adulthood until roughly about the age of 25. But our body and mind is programmed to start mating as early as puberty hits. That’s when a person is biologically an adult.  
A cat feels like a safer to talk about subject of example than a child here. At 6 months old a cat will hit puberty and immediately becomes sexually active. They’re wired to do it. Their pheromones are released and every cat in the neighborhood senses and reacts to them.  
Humans are just as biologically programmed. Even if we’re not socially accepting of it we will still have adults that are completely normal but find children attractive. As biologically they’re only children as a label, not children as far as biology is concerned. Not that they should pursue them.

Honestly? I agree. It’s not about the form (pony), it’s about the image of the child. About the innocence and all that.
