You’re wrong. The monster attacking them was real, as was the fire that he made Smolder sneeze up. All of the danger was real and the message of the episode is “It’s okay to attempt to murder children if you don’t get your way. You should be rewarded for that! But if you dare to care about the kids well being or do anything to protect them, you’re a piece of shit and need to apologize.”
Literally couldn’t have had a worse moral if it was their actual goal to teach something awful.
