Considering that most of the group was trying to constructively criticise people from what I’ve heard it was a bad move. Mostly it was new authors who thought their ‘Red and black random alicorn who stops Cupcakes from happening then fricks either Twilight, Fluttershy or Rainbow Dash’ was the best thing ever who reported them.  
I’ve seen them help improve authors before.
