The last time we saw Pinkie Pie like this, she thought her two biggest values in life, throwing parties and making others happy, were unappreciated. It made sense because it seemed like her lifestyle was the problem.


 
This time... I think they wasted some good potential. [spoiler]||Pinkie Pie was deemed an "honorary yak", and it would fit her character to correlate her yovidaphone-playing skills with her respect for yak culture. So why not tie the two together? Instead of just sulking over an instrument she couldn't play well, she'd be depressed over supposedly failing her role as a dignitary... more depressed than just thinking her friends didn't like her.[/spoiler]|| It would make perfect sense!
