Not very well thought actually.
1 They should take into account that Sunset doesn't gain anything from it. Sunset consistently seems to be the kind of girl who aims for an objective, like power or magic control. The whole thing if you think about it does nothing but paint a target at Sunset. It's noted that Sunset would do things in a way that keeps her from the sniping radar, but the anon-a-miss thing plays in a way that says "Hiya im sunset".
2 What's if the main characters feels so betrayed they're not in the mood to do happy things? What if Applejack feels in a sour mood that she isoñlates more from her family so she can proccess what happened? What of Rarity dejects Sweetie Belle because she feels so wounded, and keep on mind it would be because of Sunset's "betrayal", but stressed peoplee can often isolate themselves even from people that (supposedly) has nothing to do with? And besides, they are also planning a christmas party, so taking Sunset out of the equation probably wouldn't do any good if they're still busy with other things.
3 Given that the school gave them material for the blog, what if they found material regarding their own? They're put in a no win situation. Either they don't publish anything at all and make themselves suspects for someone with a good perception. Or they just publish it and humiliate themselves in the proccess. And what's if is something pne of the crusaders doesn't know? There would be mistrust between themselves as well if is something big.
4 Have things not solved on the right time, after what Sunset wrote, princess Twilight would intervene, and given that she dealt with something lile that before, she could get the CMC eventually. Sure, princess duties and all, but who says she wouldn't take a time to attend that? She takes her princess of friendship title seriously, and a friendship problem like this would still cap her attention.
5 Given how magic reacted in the first movie and RR, isn't that suspicious that the redeemed and worthy of the harmony powers Sunset reverted back despite the magical lie detector thing? She was a bitch in the first movie, so the magic of harmony reacted in a negative way. She was redeemed and worked hard for forgiveness, and the magic in RR turned her into good pony mode. So, doesn't that count for something?
6 What if someone still doesn't believe Sunset did it? Someone probably with low emotional attachment to the thing or with enought appreciation for Sunset, either way, someone willing to play as the good samaritan wouldn't be impulsive to blame Sunset and would be able to actually think logically, and given the aforement points, it would en badñy for the crusaders. Remember as well, 0 and 100 percent doesn't exist in the social rules, someone willing to help her would do what he/she can to bring the culprits down. Despite beong "the biggest meanie" because of the memory stone in Forgotten Friendship, some of the students like Maud, Microchips and Trixie didn't behave with vitriol to Sunset.
Im willing to bypass the emotional aspects since it kinda fits, but I don't think the plan was exactly well thought. Sure the cmc were 10-nish years old, but it still doesn't mean the plan was well thought. Make sense, all of the characters reacted out of impulse.
