Not that I’m gonna deny this special didn’t do anything groundbreaking other than feature someone other than Twilight or Sunset in the spotlight, and imply an LGBT romance more than ever before in the franchise (and that’s only slightly groundbreaking within the franchise’s own boundaries), but while probably not the best material in the franchise, it was still a very fun-packed special in which I felt invested because it was following some of the characters I care most about. That’s enough for me to love it.
What’s the difference anyway? EQG will be as lame as always no matter how gay it gets!

The earlier Cloverway and DiC dubs did, yes. Sailor Moon was highly censored when it was first aired. But a later dub by Viz Media gave Sailor Moon more accurate translations and no censorship so the two of them weren’t “cousins” in that dub thankfully.

Oh please. This stuff has happened in shows aimed at pre-teen/teen girls before.
The couple in the bottom, Ruby and Sapphire got engaged and married in the show recently by the way. So if Steven Universe can have same sex pairings in it, so can Equestria Girls.
