Male on female violence IS worse than female on male. I wouldn’t watch a show where guys hit girls all the time, but I love it when girls hit guys.

V @Itsthinking, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I always feel bad for spike, when something happens to him. But like you said, sometimes he brings it upon himself.
 
Yeah, they probably would do that. But mainly because, while it is generic, it keeps people from complaining to the studio, that it’s cruel to see a girl being hit by guys. And it is. Better to go with the generic idea, than the one that offends more women.

I don’t think Spike brings most of his pain on himself. The CMC on the other hand, they cause their own (comparitvely harmless) injuries, but Spike is almost always hurt by the carelessness of those around him. The only ones who intentionally hurt him are Rainbow and Twilight. The “About Time” belly ache was his own fault, but that’s all I can think of at the moment.
 
That’s why “Spike at your Service” has given me mixed feelings with its synopsis. On one hand, Applejack apparantly saved Spike, so someone finally gave a shit about him, but I’m worried the rest of it is going to be managled.

Doesn’t look that great when six grown women hit a little boy, either. But whatever. Barb still could probably do physical comedy, most of Spike’s physical jokes are stuff he brings upon himself.
 
They’d unfortunately probably use the “girl of the group is the only one that knows what’s going on” schtick too much, though, which satisfies no one.

V @Trickquestion I agree she’s a true heroine. However, I don’t think that the writers would use the physical jokes on girl-spike for 3 reasons:
 
1.) The feminists wouldn’t be thrilled if the mane female character was the butt-monkey
 
2.)It wouldn’t look good, or funny if 6 grown men hit a girl
 
3.) Hitting a girl has been considered wrong, since the beginning of time (It’s not funny with normal spike either, but I can imagine more people making a bigger deal out of it, he, was a she.

Barbara should at least be aliased to Barb. Most of the community is too split between Spines and Barb though.

Stick by her friends despite being battered more then a football player’s wife and still tries as hard as possible to save the day. THAT is why this character is a hero.

This thing has three different tags that all mean “rule 63 Spike.” We need some aliasing around here.
