Saints pt.1
Ascension is the process of spiritual awakening that moves you into a higher level of consciousness. All ponies have the potential to ascend however, not all ascensions result in an alicorn. There are four types of ascension, emotional, mental, physical, and magical. The pony in this image is Lux, otherwise known as Saint Lux. He ascended emotionally, a type of philosophical or spiritual enlightenment. Although he did not gain knowledge of facts, he gained knowledge of self and outstanding amounts of hope, acceptance, and peace.
St Lux was a young pegasus stallion when Nightmare Moon was banished to the moon. It was a dark time in pony history, as Celestia stepped away from the public eye to mourn her sister. Sometimes the sun didn’t rise, and Lux saw what this did to ponies. Fear, sadness, and emptiness were apparent in all.
Lux became a shining beacon of light when there was none, specializing in making clouds glow with ball lightning to brighten up the dreary atmosphere. He interrupted storms to shine his cloud’s light enveloping the towns he visited in a bright warm light. When he put together several clouds, he managed to imitate a few rays of sunlight. The return of the sun, though artificial, made ponies happy, it made them smile. He traveled across Equestria, bringing his light everywhere he went, and ponies followed. His final destination was Canterlot, where he gathered all the clouds in the sky and conducted the lightning in unison. The light of the faux sun shined through Celestia’s window, piercing the darkness in the room. She got up to inspect the strange light, as she had not risen the sun that day, and discovered thousands of ponies standing outside her window. On bridges, streets, her courtyard and her garden, ponies stood illuminated by the light. All her pony subjects cheered when they saw her, and Celestia was overwhelmed. She cried and smiled, touched by her little ponies. They were all there for her. They would get through this together.
St Lux teaches us that there is light in the darkness, there is hope. You are loved.

Lux’s ascension changed his appearance, but he is still average pegasus height. His brown/blonde mane became a shimmering golden yellow, ethereally flowing. His wings became larger and a halo manifested above his head. His most amazing change was the bright warm glow he emitted. There was light everywhere he stepped.
Celestia never met St Lux in person, he never came to her seeking thanks. Celestia returned to raising and lowering the sun every morning and night, vowing to never keep her light away from her subjects again. To keep on his spirit, Celestia opened Saint Lux Rehabilitation Center in his name.
