For example, forgive my cynical self, but we could easily confirm that the Anon that posted this is the same as the one who posted all the other meta before, ergo, he was arguing against himself (for dramabait)?

To be fair, disabling anonymous uploads won’t actually improve anything.

What did I miss?  
Did we get flooded again?

We have about 1000 uploads a day. Modding isn’t a job, it’s an annoying task we do in our free time to help support a hobby. Screening uploads would leave us with long downtimes of no images, a massively reduced number of uploads and bitter mods as they’d have to do ten times more work.

Why bother its not like its going to change much.

Well, if we can’t ban the anons, then why can’t we get a pre-screening system for images? If they bash bronies, then they’re thrown in the trash bin. Fimfiction does it, and I’m pretty sure that they have a less than or equal to number of mods than us.

What brought this on. Going through the last few pages I see no obvious signs of sabotage, which either means your just randomly complaining, or the mods cleaned it up already.
 
Either scenario points to there not being a problem.

I’ve been quite happily browsing and posting stuff since moving from PB and haven’t seen any real reason to set up an account. I rather like being utterly unremarkable and posting gifs every now and again

I think most unregistered anons don’t realize they can register, avoid captchas, use the filter system etc and still always post and upload as anon. Or that they can just use a mailinator address to register, we honestly don’t give a damn.
 
A big thing anons like is that what they do should be valued for what they do alone, and not for who did it. Of course it breaks down a bit when there are so many non-anons that decide to lump every anon into one single identity.
 
And a little reminder to everyone that Carcer, one of the most active admins, almost always posts as anon.

Remember the anon drama over ponibooru because they wanted to ban anons and let only registered people post and comment?

Okay, why is nobody explaining to me why it’s so hard for the anons that don’t shizpost to just get accounts?

The the one saying you want that to happen, get lost, most Background Ponies are posting uploads and comments that are just fine, but your just looking at the bad.

As a background pony, an anon and image maker/submitter. If the person who put this image up doesn’t know what ‘internet collusion’ means on the net, then don’t post such a thing.

I really wish they would.

So the background ponies can’t make an account and post as a recognizible person?

No one notices the 90% of anon uploads and comments that are good and wholesome, they just see the bad ones. We’re not going to punish the anon mentality because some jerks are tainting it.
