Me too. I actually liked him as the Grinch, but a few of his typical “Jim Carrey moments” were a li’l annoying.
 
Also, not sure how his “Eggman” voice will sound, or if he could pull off the look. He could probably do Eggman’s goofy mannerisms, like smirking, waving his arms around, pointing, yelling, and such.
 
Know what I want in the movie most?  
Jaleel White, (the original “Sonic”) to get a cameo appearance. (It’s unlikely he’ll do the voice due to Sega’s mandate that Sonic can only have one voice actor.)

Only real concern I have about Jim Carrey is that he would just do a normal Jim Carrey performance

Well, considering Eggman has skinny limbs, it’d probably be better if they chose somebody lanky, and then put them in a fat suit, or something. (Unless, they’re going for a more classic Robotnik look.) I could kinda see Christopher Lloyd as him, as he’s got the booming hammy voice perfect for Eggman, but he’s getting pretty old now sadly.

true but the last few movie he did weren’t that great plus he’s no where near fat enough nor dose he have the booming voice that eggman has. should’ve picked john goodman, he has the booming voice he’s fat and he would look great with that big ass mustache

Well, he was Scrooge, the Grinch, and Count Olaf, so he’s actually not bad at being quirky villains, but I just can’t see him as THE Robotnik.

just learned that jim carry is gonna be eggman in the live action movie. ruined the moment whoever thought that was a good idea

I doubt it’ll ever happen, especially with MLP:FiM within it’s last seasons, the MLP comic will likely be cancelled, or be rebooted for G5.
 
Granted, the old Archie series had some odd crossovers. Like Sonic meeting Sabrina the teenage witch, or the Sonic, and Image Comics crossover. (Which ironically, was more-so about controversial writer Ken Penders’ characters, then the Sonic or Image ones.)
 
The 2 crossovers between Archie’s Sonic & Megaman comics were pretty good though. They even worked them into both series’ continuity cleverly, so they would actually impact both series.  
Wonder if Capcom will allow IDW to do a Megaman series too.

Plus his comics are now published by IDW, the exact same company that publishes the MLP comics….
 
There could be many opportunities for a crossover in the future…

There’s nothing really “trolling” about this frankly, apparently, it’s just a crossover fanart piece by somebody whom likes both series.
 
And I kinda like how the comic book has edited in. Not many know Sonic has been a comic book character for almost as long as he’s existed in gaming.

I still miss/prefer the Archie canon, but the new IDW series looks nice.
 
Shame IDW doesn’t do subscription services like Archie making them harder, (and more expensive) to get.
