Isn’t it adrenaline that gives you a temporal increase in strength? The emotion associated with rage is a state where the physical body is subjected to a temporal duration of extreme emotion. The brain sends signals to the adrenal gland to produce and release the adrenaline into the body. Rage might be an emotion with physiological consequences, but without biological systems in which one can have releases of complex chemical compounds in reaction to the aforementioned emotion, then the emotion itself cannot do anything to affect complex sapient lifeforms.
