It’s just more efficient systems, and maybe double-dipping how you count stuff, in some sense. You actually can cough > 100% efficiency out of some things depending on how you measure efficiency - it’s just that you won’t actually get more energy out than you put in or anything crazy like that.
I know of some stuff like that, but given these are IT books it’s probably computer programming stuff I’m not as familiar with and it doesn’t mean the stuff I’m thinking of.
So just more efficient systems.
But it’s kind of amazingly beautiful how you can get stuff to work together sometimes. Or for, say, waste heat from one thing to help power another.
