Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Adventure Time and Wakfu are animated series who manage to be edgy without scaring away the children (after all, they’re the main target for cartoons). Pretty sure Gen 5 will do just fine!

They discribed new Ponyville as a dengerous place where AJ grew up alone. If I understood correctly, AJ had to lie, steal and betray to survive there. So, that’s her redemption.
But we’ll see.
If that turn out to be true, what could AJ possibly had done?
They did mention Tempest. They said that maybe AJ should have a redemption arc like Tempest or Sunset.
