I really don’t honestly care about age gaps in this show. They’re imaginary characters so shipping, to me, can be as big a free for all as anyone wants. Agewise, I get the feeling Spike is older if only because he seems to have more responsibilities, a fulltime job and doesn’t go to school.

Spike and the C.M.C. seem to be roughly the same age, and it’s clear that none of them are considered adults yet. I don’t think there’s any age gap problem with shipping Spike with any of these fillies.

Actually Spike might be older since he was hatched when Twilight was a little filly, most likely younger than the CMC and he acts more mature as well.
