I meant I seen that stuff in other cartoon shows like the bully has a bad home life so that’s why their jerks to everyone; it gets old but it is the first time it happened on this show and probably the only time too.
I am completely sure that was the first time we saw something like an abusive parent in MLP.
I Don’t mean that it’s bad just that it needs to have more variety than just “abused by parents”.

Just because something has been used before it does not mean that it is bad.
And in Crusaders of the Lost Mark it worked very well.

Spoiled Rich is no scapegoat, she is the one who raised her daughter this way.
And nobody claimed that DT did nothing wrong.
However she made the decision to stond up against her mother and help the Crusaders herself.
Spoiled rich is a scapegoat and i know all that stuff happened; diamond tiara doesn’t need a “abusive” mother she just needed to have all the bad stuff she did be just her fault not have all the blame put on someone else just let her be the one at fault and have her decide to change only because silver spoon left her; no “abusive” mother, no cliche sob story just a pure self redemption story about diamond tiara.
It is clear that the abuse was going on for a long time. Her mother is not a scapegoat, she is the reason for her behaviour.
Just like Starlight and Sunset and Gilda and Discord and Trixie and so on.
Diamond Tiara also had to suffer the consequences for her bad behaviour more than once.
That happened in “crusaders of the lost mark” there was no proof she was abused before that and also diamond tiara whole personality was that she was a bully and a self centered brat she never showed more than that if you take away that she’s a completely different character altogether now; “crusaders of the lost mark” would of been better if it had hints that she was abused and that she wanted to change before it and had to answer for her actions by herself instead of having a scapegoat.

She was scared when Babs Seed threatened to tell her mother because she is afraid of her.
She is not a different character; she just has changed for the better.
That video didn’t show any signs of diamond tiara being abused just that she’s was afraid of bads seed telling on to her mother which is understandable and I liked diamond tiara way before “crusaders of the lost mark” and would love to see her again but she would just be a completely different character now.

Diamond Tiara redeemed herself by defending the Crusaders and making the new playground possible.
And she still can (and should) appear in future episodes.
Abuse? There was no signs diamond tiara was ever abused until “call of the cutie marks” she never showed regret for the mean things she did; she was always shown as a bully and all of a sudden it turns out it was her mother’s fault. The writers just put that in so she would be sympathetic and have a easier redemption and have someone else to blame diamond tiara’s actions and now diamond tiara doesn’t even have part to play in cmc episodes anymore.
Diamond Tiara will not take her mothers abuse anymore.
There will be no “punishment”.
She’s her daughter that want happens when you talk back to your mother you get punished and diamond tiara never respected anyone until “call of the cutie mark”.
She got grounded because she wants her mother to treat others with respect?
I don´t think so.
I think diamond tiara got grounded for that when she got home by spoiled rich she is still her mother after all.
It was difficult, it is pretty clear that it was the first time she dared to do that.
She also only did it when her mother started to attack the Crusaders.
