In my headcanon, Tree Hugger introduced Fluttershy to a natural herbal mood stabilizer, which has largely quelled her anxiety. With that in mind, I can see this episode being a hypomania brought on by her medicated lack of anxiety – that she’s more free from her anxiety than she’s ready for.

Think about it - Twilight opens a school on a whim and everypony, despite their conflicting schedules and lack of interest, goes along with it. Then Pinkie Pie overreacts to Maud’s boyfriend the way Starlight overreacted to Sunburst. Now this.
Clearly Starlight has used a spell to literally give her craziness to the M6 XD
 
Exactly. I miss the times when the Mane Six acted more rationally like in “Bridle Gossip”, “Party of One” or “Lesson Zero”.

This episode was WEIRD. It reminded me a lot of the personality shift Fluttershy did to herself back in Iron Will’s debut episode, but more extreme in the sense that this time it was multiple personalities.
