No, Nothern Haste is right. Depending on what program you’re using and how high quality you want the animation to be, CGI tends to be a bit more pricy than 2D stuff.
Transformers Prime was a beautiful show and it was CGI and they actually did have quite a bit of money problems due to that. It’s why the sequel series, Robots in Disguise was not animated in the same way.
when you actually put some thought into it it does make sense for 3d CGI is the more expensive method of animation especially for TV.
Not that I’m against it being 2d it just looks like it’s on the more cheaper side of flash animation
Yeah, though I hear CGI is cheaper then 2D animation.
I hear Rob Paulson is going to be a voice director for it.
Oh and with that new Turtles series the only problem I can see with the trailers personally is the animation looking noticeably cheaper than the previous one
Kinda like those Sonic fans wishing they’d get rid of all the Sonic characters, then when they did, fans started wishing them to return?
@northern haste
“Calvin & Hobbes” is one, (the creator of it was against licensing his series) though that wasn’t really a franchise, and that lead to bootleg merchandise, including the now famous “Calvin peeing on some logo” bootleg merch’.
also to be honest how many franchises have a no way “sold out”
Good thing those complaints are mostly gone now. Fandoms always seem to complain about certain things for a limited amount of time, and then end up wishing for those things to come back whenever they move on to the next thing to complain about.
True, but like MLP it’s also a huge cash cow franchise. (Especially, now that Nickelodeon/Viacom owns it.)
I love TMNT though don’t get me wrong. I even liked the Nick series, and want to give the new one a chance. (Not keen on Raph being the leader tho’.)

tmnt didn’t even start as a toy franchise
Yeah, but even some like “Rainbow Power” were quite brief. Honestly, there’s more toy tie-ins in TMNT, and such.

I honestly can’t either. The only times I got toy commercial vibes from the show was from a few of the season primeres and finales since they often introduce new characters, locations, and stir up the status quo a bit by adding certain gimmicks.
Indeed, they misblamed others on the show too. Especially, Meghan McCarthy whom Season 1/2-purists treated like “Hitler” even though she wrote some of their favorite S1 episodes. One guy tried to claim all her episodes were “toy commercials,” yet I can’t recall any toy tie-ins in “Dragonshy,” “Call of the Cutie,” “Green Isn’t Your Color,” “Party of One,” “Lesson Zero,” “Sweet and Elite,”“Hearts and Hooves Day,” ect.

I’m aware it wasn’t his decision. Which just makes the hatred over him over that kinda senseless.
The irony about the Larson drama from angry fans was it wasn’t even his idea to make Princess Twilicorn, (which is still a touchy subject) so he was constantly misblamed, but he still jokes about it regardless. He even threatened to turn Peter New into an alicorn. >>229163

Thank you! I kind of don’t really understand the hate for Vogel (but then again, I was a Transformers fan first before getting into MLP and people in the Transformers fanbase seem to like him).
@Beau Skunky
And I respect him for that. He also wrote some of my favorite episodes from this series and Gravity Falls so I don’t even hate his writing either.
Very true, though Larson’s been overall a good sport with the fandom, (even the “fandumb” part of our fandom) and even fully embraced the “Thanks, M.A. Larson” meme, and even poked fun at himself with it.

your current filter.pretty on point
your choice doesn’t even make that much sense I checked his episode list I can only think of the one that that is actually infamous
Exactly THANK YOU!
Thank you for saying this. It’s so true.
All of this. Really shows the hypocrisy and irony.
Same goes for M.A. Larson. Poor Mitch will literally never escape having written one of the most divisive episodes ever, yet we lament his departure because he was a great writer.
Maybe we ought to stop crapping all over these people. We’re not going to encourage anyone to come back by acting like spoiled children all the time.
he’s a good writer
@Michaelsety
Me too, I don’t care who writes it as long as it’s entertaining. The mindless writer-hate gets old.
I remember some used to demonize Meghan Macarthy, and M.A. Larson despite the fact, they wrote alot of beloved episodes.
Same.
