Crisp? More like milky. The way the shadows work on the bottom one makes more sense to me.
But the second one makes more sense. Darker doesn’t mean worse. The contrast makes sense because those curtains are in the background behind all these lights.

Honestly either one could easily be made better if you adjusted with the brightness and contrast

Depends on the projector. Also, the leak was an illegal rip, so we don’t know that the person who made it knew what they were doing, or had the right tools, or what process they used.
I guess what I’m trying to say is the top one was stollen, was never intended to be seen in the way we are looking at it, and we don’t know what damage the thief did in the process of stealing the movie.
The top one? That’s odd because usually projectors white-wash colors and contrast like a bitch. You’d think they’d use the more crushed contrast version instead to compensate.
It was intended for projection - that was the copy intended for theaters, so the gamut is not the same as the broadcast version. It’s part of how we could tell if an image was from the leak, or from an advertisement for TV or YouTube.
The brightness could be turned up… but the contrast needs to be turned down
I can agree with you on that one.
With the top one the contrast is really messed up.. making it looked washed out
Plus, Rarity is more highlighted in the spotlight in the official release, which is more appropriate, darling.
