I wasn’t surprised exactly, but I was a trifle disappointed. Still, camels could make up a significant part of Saddle Arabia’s population. However, I will be very disappointed if Saddle Arabia turns out not to have a treacherous vizier, or at least somepony/somecamel who looks like one.

I’m not sure what’s so racist about this. It’s not like we haven’t had other hooved animals representing races in a way (such as Zebras and Buffalo) so Saddle Arabia having some camels in their population seems reasonable. They’d probably be Saddle Arabia’s parallel to Donkeys or something.

Reminds me of an old movie by the name of Hawmps. In it, a bunch of US cavalry troopers think they’re getting a bunch of Arabian horses, and instead they get a bunch of camels. Hilarity ensues.

Nope. That was one of the clips in the commercials, and it was pretty clear it would be used in this episode when Twilight was practicing the figure-eight telekinesis routine.
 
What surprised me was that the fandom actually got the name “Saddle Arabia” right. Was that leaked ahead of time ,or did we just get lucky?
