Has anyone ever figured out the exchange rate from bits to USD?

I like to think this is what happened before the MLP movie took place.

Finally, a decent comment.

I sometimes felt weirded out by some people who argue that Starlight is bad because she fucked with the mane6 thing (even if she is never officially part The Six; Starlight’s like Spike basically) But somehow at the same time they’re okay with Sunset, despite her not only literally be officially part of the Mane6, she’s taken Twi’s role as THE main character of the show and taken spotlights left right center, and is being pushed by the company as the spinoffs main selling point.
 
One could argue “but it’s not the main series”. But then again they’d enjoy EqG more than the main series anyway, so why would it matter?!
 
Point being; at least be aware of what can be perceived as double standard.

Judging by the volume of art featuring Starlight in a positive (or at least neutral) light, and the fact that most of the complaining tends to come from a fairly small set of individuals, I’d say it’s pretty likely.  
Note that the above points are true for just about any character that receives “a lot of hate” from the fandom.
 
Mind you, I am unable to cough up any hard numbers (it’s extremely unlikely that anybody can), so take that for what you will.

Look, you can have all the opinions you want, and that’s fine, but ‘half the fandom hates Starlight’ isn’t an opinion, so I’m going to need you to back that one up with some evidence. Because all the evidence I’ve seen puts it at less than 15% of the fandom.

And I’m not saying I want SG off the show, I just want her to be one of those loveable background characters like Maud or Derpy. I’m glad the show is wrapping up though, you can tell they are running out of ideas, although the school idea was alright.

Even if they did care, none of what you guys say matters. Because once the season 5 finale was aired, season 6 was done and 7 was getting wrapped up. So any “criticisms” that come up can’t be “fixed” until around season 8 (assuming that they read whatever stupid thing we say). But by that point, everyone would’ve deemed it “too little too late”, so all this whining and complaining is utterly pointless. Especially with season 9 being the last.
 
And none of us really SHOULD matter. Where not even the target demographic.

Well hell, the writers are the ones who put her in the show, so they might should care a little that at least half the fanbase dislikes her. And as far as little people are concerned, they care so much that Hasbro actually made an episode to show how ridiculous everyone is. And I guess that includes me even though this is my first technical tiff I’ve had.

Actually I like the Yaks, but thank you. And yes, in some ways I do feel like Starlight has taken away the spotlight from the Mane 6, I mean it’s literally called the Mane 6, not the Mane 7. She was a great villian, but I feel like she should’ve learned friendship and went on her way.
