What’s the point if you don’t have high intelligence of strength, without strength you can’t carry anything and without intelligence leveling up to fix that will be a huge chore. Besides, all lucky really gives you is some extra stuff in VATS, and you don’t need VATS to win unless you’re a terrible shot

I mean they can mod it back in but good luck balancing it with the new system for S.P.E.C.I.A.L and perks. Especially when it comes to the perks.

I thought you were talking about base game Fallout 4 because I’m definietly sure that someone make some custom perks that do come with gameplay effects.

I did notice that… But what genre do you make open world? There seems to be a variety at least for now…
 
And modders haven’t scripted any new effects in?

I dunno. The industry right now seems far more invested in open world titles than it is in first person shooters (bar the sudden explosion of classic FPS throwbacks in the indie scene like DUSK, Ion Maiden, and Amid Evil).
 
Also there aren’t any perks. Only stat modifiers and upgrades masking themselves as perks.

I was actually talking about the fact that half of all non-Japanese AAA games are first-person shooters. As of this January Halo’s been the industry re-inventor for longer than Super Mario Bros., and the industry shows no signs of switching genres again in the foreseeable future (say, this century) bar the FPS getting banned in the US with all the recent shootings.
 
What perks are there in Fallout 4?

Yeah, but Fallout was founded and made successful on the basis of it being a series where you can be any sort of character you want and select perks and invest in skills that fit your play style. Want to be a stealthy sniper? You can do that. Fast-talking gunslinger? That too. A businessman with a penchant for explosives and energy weapons? Why not? A bodybuilder that likes big clubs and swords and is good at lockpicking and hacking? Go for it. Hell in the top-down days, you could even become a porn star and sell sex tapes for some cash. Obsidian studios recognized this when they got brought in to make New Vegas and they pulled it off spectacularly.

When was the last time a genre other than shooter top dog? Answer: 14 November 2001. Shooters have been king since and show no signs of being dethroned.
 
Plus, all of Bethesda’s other IPs bar TES are shooters.

And the fact that there’s hardly any gameplay related perks anymore because Bethesda wants Fallout to be a shooter first and a role-playing game with interesting modifiers and unique build opportunities never again.

Fallout 4 has a lower starting number for stats, as a balance to the fact that they’re purchasable with perk points.
