I’ve been thinking about making Lord Tirek into a sympathetic villain who is power-hungry because he was born with a magical curse. He wanted nothing more than to be a center of attention, yet his parents favored his brother, Scorpan, a lot more than they favored Tirek. The centaur wanted to absorb pony magic so that he could gain unlimited strength and power and become a god among all creatures great and small. So, in this scene from my MLP Fanfic & Love Story that’s called, “One Night with the Princess”, Tirek has kept his pony disguise on for weeks and has been spending quality time with Princess Luna and the rest of the ponies of Equestria instead of stealing magic or wreaking havoc among everypony like he usually does. Instead, Proteus a.k.a Tirek is feeling sad because he’s afraid that if everypony finds out who he really is, not only will he lose his friends, but he will also lose the love of his life, Luna, because of the fact that he almost succeeded in taking over Equestria after absorbing enough magic from everypony to become stronger.
