Another point I was meaning to mention, it’s not a single factor really. It’s a combination of reasons to be honest. Outdated tactics, Rushed deployment, Front line pressure, etc.
Well, main reason why it wasn’t effective, is that it being a multi-tower tank was outdated as a concept at it’s time.
It was still in use only because at this stage of war red army used everything they had.

In fairness, Germany had completely overhauled their Armoured Warfare at this time. Radio Co-ordination, Mechanized Infantry, Close Air Support. It wasn’t until Russia used this and overwhelming numbers that they started to push them back at Kursk
and at the end it was useless against the nazis
