Is there anything suggesting she couldnt read it? Id have to recheck the transcript. But my point is that they both worlds use a similar alphabet as seen here:
…Or you know, this was actually a warning note, Wallflower couldn’t read it, the stone was pretty intuitive to use anyway, and she just practiced till she could do precise memory wipes, like she explicitly tells Sunset Shimmer.

Consider that Twilight and Sunset had no trouble speaking to the others. In fact if you notice the writing used by them is the same as the show’s.

That’s not what a deus ex machina is. When you throw around words so loosely and use them to refer to things that aren’t prt of their definition, they lose their meaning.
Maybe she knew the pony language already. Nowadays there’s schools all around the city that teach you German, French, Chinese, maybe at some point of her life she learned Pony writing.
