This is the 17th of my series designing clothes for ponies with a flower theme. Finished with the mane six, this time I picked the flowers based on the flora’s meaning closest to what Sunset Shimmer seem to be associated with, keeping what colors suited her best in mind.
 
Sunset Shimmer’s flower is Nigella, or the name I prefer Love-In-The-Mist. In the languages of flowers it represents independance, perplexity, intrigue and bonds that bind people together – usually in love, but sometimes in bitterness. For a reformed villain, it seemed to suit her. And while she certainly wasn’t very perplexing in the first Equestria Girls movie, I think the comics and the second movie have really fleshed out her character.
