Yeah, it’s ironic. Still, the funny thing is many Sonic fans are Super Mario series fans too. Which kinda makes the old “SuperNES VS Sega Genesis/Megadrive” wars of the ’90s a bit hilarious in hindsight.

I thought it was panned for it’s character designer and the segments with the custom character are chunky and terrible, and something about bad controls that does a disservice to even the classic games.

Yeah, I don’t understand it either, and I actually do love some pretty silly Sonic and MLP memes. (Even some overdone ones.)
I never liked that meme. Well, I am not really into memes overall unless I really, REALLY like it. It’s funny because while I’m open minded when it comes to first-time options, I’m picky with my preferences.
The meme never caught with me, but the actual problem comes with the fact that a meme can be funny for so long until it gets tiresome and unfunny.

Might be partially a reason, but I don’t see people complain about it as much.
Some are getting tired of the “Uganda Knuckles” meme though. Even some Sonic fans are.
I thought they hated Sonic because of how prevalescent is in several websites (which to be honest is something bronies get accussed as well).
The internetz hate Sonic. They still won’t forgive him for “Rise of Lyric,” and such.
At least, “Sonic Mania” kinda quelled the hate a bit. (Though, I see a few hating on it for being “too retro,” or for “nostalgia pandering.” Sonic can’t win…)
Honestly, I don’t understand why so many sonic pictures get many downvotes.
Granted, Mario has a better track record. (Sega, PLZ fix the glitches you accidentally added to “Sonic CD Classic” on mobile…)
