Actually his Short Story was the Basis for Maximum Overdrive.
He even had a Bit Oart in the film
Just reading that almost makes me hear the Horn
The Car is Literally a Demon, thats why they couldnt Stop it with Bullets, and why it couldnt enter Hallowed Ground
One possible way to stop The Car is to let it run out of gas.

It was such a cheesy yet awesome movie. I first saw it years ago on the Sci-Fi channel, where it was shown back to back with Stephen King’s: Trucks, which was basically a low-budget made for TV version of Maximum OVerdrive.
“What evil drives the Car?”
“Is it a phantom, a demon or the devil himself? There is nowhere to turn, nowhere to hide, no way to stop the Car.”
