We don't yet know for sure (and probably never will), but considering what we actually got? I'd say that these were most likely real. Too much lines up. Earth Pony main character? Check. Plot about reuniting the tribes? Check. The different tribes being sequestered to their own worlds? Not in the literal Kingdom Hearts way it would have been in the concept leak's version of the show, but figuratively yes. Being deeply connected to G4? Yes (though instead of a G4 reboot, we got a distant sequel to G4).
