I figured since we are a couple of days away from the official release, there should be some rules decided on.

I would still put spoilers on preveiw pages, I don’t mind, but some people may not want to see them until they buy the comic.

It’s already been commented on in the IRC channel, boiling down basically to “no” for uploading full scans, but I would add a few things.

Since they serve a promotional purpose, previews like what’s already been uploaded are fine. OTOH, higher-resolution scans outside of single panel or spread excerpts are forbidden are verboten.

I would also suggest derivative works such as edits and vectors should be substantially modified from the source to be acceptable. I point this out in case some smartalek tries to play with the rules using watermarks or steganography.

I will probably bring it up to the admins, but I envision a prohibition on download links, too (but likely not enforced in the IRC).

I know we’ll get flack for an anti-piracy stance, but it’s not worth the potential disruption from the drama that would ensue otherwise, not counting just IDW but the community as well. Chances are you know enough not to need Derpibooru to get a scan and use a good e-comic reader.

I agree with banning full-page scans. We don’t want this thing to die off.

In my opinion, even the preview pages should be spoilered by default.
