Athletes need as many calories as they can get, sugar is the most destructive way to get energy. The process of turning it into energy is destructive, and it raises your basal metabolic rate excessively, causing a straight plummet in available energy, after Insulin destroys and disrupts many complex hormones, including HGH and Insulin like Growth Factor.

Well, shyay… that’s actually pretty neat. I think the most sugary thing she’s eaten on screen after joining the Wonderbolts were those pancakes in Castle Sweet Castle, but even then, she was just a reserve. Correct me if I’m wrong, though :P
 

 
I still think it’s safe to assume she doesn’t like most pies, though, given that Rainbow’s been disposing of Pinkie’s pies for years… but still. That’s pretty damn cool, never would have noticed.

EDIT: Pretty sure two of them are after. Well there went that theory. It would have actually been kinda cool if there was ever a pony making dietary choices besides candy and cupcakes. Rainbowdash was my favorite character for a couple minutes.
 
Now it’s back to Sassy Saddles, because her diet is 80% amphetamines.

By the way, I can’t believe that nobody pointed out that pizza literally just means pie. That was the original sense of the word in Italian, anyway.

Sugar and the resulting insulin spikes are poison to anabolics, and long term energy. Many body builders and athletes will avoid it religiously, many athletes are even payed to endorse it.
 
Seeing as how Dash is one of the top performing athletes of the Pegasus race she probably has taste buds like mine. I don’t like anything sweet, I hate fruit, drink my coffee with milk only.
