Yeah i saw that nonsense. Just further proof, really. It’s even more annoying the times when it’s not so much an evil counter-part as a hypnotized friend and you already know for a fact that someone is running around hypnotizing people yet are somehow completely oblivious to the fact your comrade has been hypnotized even when they’re showing the most obvious signs of such.
Such may not have happened in that episode, but happens oft enough elsewhere.
To be fair, check out “Return of Harmony”. Twi’s friends all acting wildly different and she’s more confused than suspicious, despite the fact she even lost sight of them for a long time.
In all honesty, hardly anybody seems to catch on to evil counterparts right away. The power rangers didn’t, the justice league didn’t, and the scooby-doo gang never does. No matter how negative or ooc the person acts the others tend to assume their just sick or in a bad mood and usually the bad guy ends up revealing the truth themselves.

Cause they didn’t want to keep their character development consistent so they could pull cheap jokes and the like. Why else you’d think the Mane Six never caught on to their evil counterparts next season?
To be fair the Mane 6 are multi-time saviors of equestria and they get treated worse at times. You’d think they’d remember what that’s like and have a bit more respect for one of their own though.
Also it’s actually kinda sad. Imagine you’re a national hero in some country and you still get treated like this :q
