I’m assuming the Elements are considered light magic
I don’t know. Why doesn’t Twilight use her teleportation spell more often? I’m assuming the writers forgot about this sort of thing.
But I need a bit of a memory refreshing. What other episodes outside of The Crystal Empire (where she’s not even an alicorn yet), does Twilight use dark magic?
Also I’m getting into headcanon territory but I figured standard unicorn/alicorn magic is generally light magic, particularly in situations where it’s used for good or helping others. For example, the Elements of Harmony feel like they could be light magic (the magic from the Elements of Harmony even make rainbows like what happened here).
Then why Twilight never used or even mentioned this ‘hope’ magic ever again, while she used dark magic in later episodes?
Dark magic doesn’t equal alicorn magic. Sombra was able to use it and he wasn’t an alicorn. Celestia explained it just fine to me. Dark magic = hatred and fear (kind of like the Dark Side of the Force in Star Wars). While the light magic = hope and love.
I think this unicorn would agree with you.
I can’t say I would if I were in that situation. In fiction dark magic is usually something that can physically and mentally scar others, including the person in control of said magic. Doesn’t seem worth it for me.
