Sure, there’s a few British ones that do, for example, including some gilled ones. They’re mostly associated with damp days in autumn here though. Fungi aren’t photosynthesizing or flowering plants, and their sexual reproduction happens underground like most of their lifecycle. I’d hazard that their fruiting body production would be mostly to do with food and water availability, but I’m not an expert.
