Questionable morals for everyone!
This works so well, even the smugness.
Oh yes, you’re absolutely right that she’s growing as a character, but she is still very prone to falling back on morally ambiguous -if not outright evil; spells to get what she wants. The difference from the beginning of her character arc is that she now realizes this is a problem and will try to make amends.

idk I still want to give her some credits for defended her friends from rabid fans of twilight’s journal, immediately regretted swap princesses cutie marks and took reponsibility for it, boosted morale of gay deer people and immediately ceased the spell when Sunburst was upset, etc. I guess, you’re right. she has a moral, it’s a little bit broken, but she’s a lot more self-aware now.
