I believe this was the post that was closest to showing it, seems to imply it was a result of the unsafe conditions of the mines she worked in, though to my knowledge the exact cause of death is kept vague

The wings are absolutely gorgeous on this one, Redd! (honestly this facial expression could be pretty humourous in a different context)
It’s so unbelievable that she wouldn’t immediately know (sure it can take a minute in some places, but the neck, especially when piercing the trachea [and potentially one of many major blood vessels in the region], that’s not something adrenaline covers up) that I choose to believe that this is actually just straight-up denial, from the grief. But, once she has visual confirmation in the form of the blood, well there she goes.
