As much as I like Capper, I like Nick a whole lot more. He was more fleshed out of a character and he had a legitimate reason for being a jerk at first.

Kind of makes me wonder if that’s one of the reasons why they made him a cat (along with the whole possible chance to reference G1).

Funny when you consider his early concept version was a fox.

I am not gonna say nothing when I clearly see downward trend of world-building. If you’ve been to a animation, or film making school, you know immediately that Capper, and the general idea of klugetown are just made from common templates. Students do their project using template like this to get satisfying grade with minimal effort. I did the same thing. However, seeing the MLP movie like this, I can picture how this movie was made—new college graduates who want the job more than wanting to make a great movie decided to take the same route as their homework, resulting an acceptable, yet not memorable, and far from amazing piece.
 
I also strongly disagree that you think people should stop complaining. It’s a shame you even suggested it. These whiny people are treasure for a director. Because these days people are taught to be tolerant and polite, but that do not change their opinions on everything they see; People buy what they like, not what they tolerant. A reasonable critic could be the key to open a new room of audiences. This movie is very poor in terms of attracting new fans comparing to, for example, EQG Rainbow Rock ,because it’s hype level is just lacking.

It’s more lore and world-building, the more there is, the more things us fans have to use in our various projects… be it art, fanfics, videos, music, etc…
 
I see no point in hating anything unless it truly deserves the hate, or unless you hate it for an ideological reason, and I see no reason for this discussion to become political or ideological, so… could you please stop complaining. I say this not directly at you, but at everybody that hates something for no good reason, like all those Starlight or new changeling haters.

Well, technically this is G1 which is like a completely different show. If G4 was like that we wouldn’t really have as much of a fanbase as we have now. That being said I don’t mind them that much but I can understand that some do.
