I can understand why they’d put a filter on it if they did. It would have been a way to prevent bots from taking it down, at least immediately at least.
 
And okay. Thank you for helping me understand what it is. I’ll try to get some better quality screencaps or figure out a way to improve the ones I already have. Probably might even try to replace the ones I already uploaded with some better ones too (and later merge the old ones with them) if I can.

Yeah, YouTube uploaders these days are just, ugh.
 
And nah, the command line in itself is not so much a program, but can do all sorts of stuff with it if you know what you’re doing. It lends itself very well to automating stuff, but it can be a bit of a learning curve.

I did get the screenshots from a YouTube upload of the episode years ago. So you’re correct about that. I didn’t put any filters on it but I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the uploaders did something like that.
 
Command line? Is that a program of some sort?

How are you taking these screenshots? Because last I checked, the show was 16:9, this is a different ratio and the quality is all over the place (eyebrow is ridiculously smooth, whereas the mane transitions are horribly pixelated). Looks like some kind of upscaled youtube video with an edge/antialias filter (which only really work on hard edges like the eyebrows).
 
Other pics, like >>1587515, are also of questionable resolution and in that particular one the horn and mane are just not doing it for me.
 
I know there were initially some issues with the S1/S2 colors, but they still looked good at their native resolution.  
(I like the screenshots, I just think that quality can be improved. Personally I usually just dump the parts I want with some command line magic and then manually pick the best one)
