So I’ve wanted to make a ‘Next Gen’ mlp character for a long time now, but I was never a fan of any of the ships in the fandom. After watching the MLP movie that all changed. I fell in love with TempestLight, and I’ve finally convinced myself to do a next gen for these two! I’m going to make a long series of images that accompany a story in the description. Not sure what format ill write it in, but for now i’m just going to give you the background for this particular piece.
 
Shortly after the events of MLP The Movie, Tempest becomes the Captain of Twilight’s’ (newly formed) Royal guard, and was almost constantly by her side. Tempest operates in Ponyville for several years until things in Canterlot settle down after the Storm Kings attack. During their time in Ponyville, Twilight, and Tempest, fall in love after spending many moons together.
 
Twilight eventually moves to Canterlot to rule with the other princesses, and Tempest comes along. The two keep their relationship a secret for a few years until Princess Luna discovers them sleeping in the same room. So now they have to tell princess Celestia, and they don’t think she’ll be too happy that they’ve been keeping secrets…
