That kind of makes her sound like a revolutionary, if she talked to other alp-lunchra’s she could make a major evolution boost, or if she reproduced she would probably have the most advanced blood line.

Their big drawback is they’re a solitary untrusting species by nature. Mave is actually unusual in that she speaks the pony’s language fluently and has a concept of things like socialization or friendship, and that’s only because she’s always parasitized ponies, and even she has only a vague concept of it. Like, deep down she has some friendly affection for GMHAA but she doesn’t understand it, so she’s freaked out by it XD
 
Normally, as a species they’re more or less feral, need to figure out everything for themselves, and likely won’t even bother to learn how to speak XD

Then wouldn’t there intelligence be there deference? I mean humans didn’t get this far on strength along but we knew how to outsmart are pray and trick are predators. Even if simple minded being able to speak and understand speech it a sine of vary high intelligence.

Outside of a host she has no actual defenses. She’s not poisonous, she’s not a particularly fast swimmer or runner, and can’t even give a decent bite. Even her camouflage is designed to keep her hidden at night when making a mad dash for a host, rather than hiding her when she’s in the water or anything.
 
Really, the only edge they have out in the open is they’re fairly intelligent, if simple-minded. :P

But then the question is if she really, she seems as strong as a fish, and on land is she finds a host, she will be protected by its defenses and adaptations. All she would really need to do is survive in the water till she fined a host

The irony is of course, is other than that one specific unbelievably strong attribute of their body, they’re otherwise entirely defenseless :P
