Even before that Egyptians weren’t black, there might have been some priest or somwone high up that was, ut north africans are not white or black. They would be offended if you called Egyptians black because they see themselves as closer to Romans and Hreeks than anything else culturally.
Meadow on the other hand doesn’t seem to be accurate in skin tone or clothing, none of them are besides somnambula and stars but he is manufactured. Brooks clothes should be closer to the Mayan or Aztec clothes, but the show made her out to be from modernish US, so I don’t know about this one.
While the first two links are quite informative and fascinating, the Time link is very lacking. The author doesn’t really go into any detail about how the Vikings were “multi-racial” outside of the the author stating so. And as to being “multi-cultural,” even then the author only notes - and as it was noted on the other links - that they were multi-cultural due to the Vikings being various tribes with their own cultures, and who would also adopt native customs wherever they settled.
Really, the Time link doesn’t give any insight on actual Viking history and mainly seems to be the author talking about how to “fight back against alt-right narratives” - and even then mainly cites fictional accounts as the means to do so.
One can oppose the historical revisionism of the alt-right and the 14/88 retards without engaging in the same thing.
@Aharon L’anglais
Being Scandanavian doesn’t automatically mean having pale skin, just as being from the Middle East or South America doesn’t automatically mean having dark skin.
Really, it seems kind of silly to assume that the pillars would have the same real-world ethnicity equivalent to what their outfits represent culturally, since Equestria itself is one giant land mass and anypony could’ve come from anywhere.

I don’t see why a person can’t choose another race for him they wanted. The Vikings weren’t one nation, were pretty fluid culturally due to the fact they travelled so much, and they were multicultural and multiracial.

Mistmane seems to be Asian here given the tags (makes sense honestly). And some of the others look fairly mixed. The only one that gave me the white vibe was Star Swirl.
They are kinda the exact same species.
Sounds like a great name for a metal band
Put up your rockfist if you’ree feelin’ it when I drop this
Otherwise great art though.
