Again, the isps are not going to roll out those changes immediately. The fact that they haven’t started throttling internet connections doesn’t change the fact that now they are able to in states where it is legal. Also, if you’re not interested in having a debate, why did you even reply to me?
Tbh I’m not interested in getting into a debate on the internet rn

It wasn’t that it wasn’t disastrous. Literally nothing happened. Also the only two states I remember enacting net neutrality laws were California and New York.
PS Look up ‘was net neutrality repealed.’ According to the wikipedia article, it was, and while the house voted to reinstate it, it would have to have been be signed by the president in order for the reinstatement to take effect. That was a year and a half ago

The only reason that the repeal wasn’t disastrous is because states enacted net neutrality laws. Also, ISPs would’ve changed their practices gradually.

No, you just know that you’re talking out of your ass.
And again, this is why I didn’t want to debate this.
Mike’s the only guy being nice about this, the rest of you are being insulting asshats. Not the best way to change someone’s mind on something. My God, I’m done here
I am open-minded. It’s people like you that don’t give a shit about something that affects everyone’s lives. There are people who depend on the internet being open.
…That is some of the most idiotic “logic” I have ever heard.
You clearly don’t understand the point of contention.
Plus, you don’t sound like an open-minded individual interested in a discussion
I don’t want the internet, probably the biggest invention of the 20th century to become a plaything to those who have all the money and power.
Just remember, YOU be affected just like the rest of us if Net Neutrality goes under.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens down the line.
Other countries also don’t have very free markets.
And very good argument race’emhard, I ABSOLUTELY want companies to fuck you over, and want to burn down the orphanage as well.
See, this is why I didn’t want to debate this, a lot of you are very emotional about this. Mike’s rather nice, but others aren’t
Right, so you’re for corporations like Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, etc having the freedom to fuck you over with throttled connections to certain sites that aren’t owned in some way by the big corporations?
Without regulation, these corporations that don’t give a single fuck about you will keep getting worse and worse.
Well, other countries use internet packages where you have to pay for specific sites, and I think cable companies want to get in on that action as well, I mean why would the major ones try to merge with each other?
Well, I am very pro-free market.
I think that monopolies create openings for business entrepreneurs, but only via free markets.
It is actually less free markets that create monopolies.
This is why I am unconcerned about a monopoly occurring if Net Neutrality is not maintained. In fact, it is my experience that government involvement in an economy is never good, and would like to see it removed.
That said, I don’t particularly care that much
Why not? I’d like to hear your reasoning as to why Net Neutrality is bad.

I just said I wasn’t interested in a debate
Well why are you not pro NN?
Ok, I wasn’t trying to start a debate, if I wanted that I’d give my reasons why I am not pro-net neutrality.
My purpose was to advise Background Pony that if he/she wants to push net neutrality, posting an image of a sad Pinkie Pie is not really gonna accomplish that

And as I said, cable providers will charge for individual packages, so sites like this? Yeah, good luck getting on this site unless you fork over extra for sites that aren’t google or Facebook.
It’s simple. The Internet needs either governmental controlling bodies/moderators, or it can be a free spirit, used and shaped by its users. If you’re for NN, you choose the latter.
Do you want internet packages like cable TV? No? Then you should support Net Neutrality.
Why would anyone not be pro-net neutrality?
