The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

Oh my gosh, the headaches, countles hours roaming the stages with little to no insight on what to do other than stumbling onto the goal or task accidentally. The countless cheap deaths. The two games I still go back and replay constantly on my Gen and pc emulator. I modded my Gen1 so I can haz component video and true stereo sound. The music from Ecco II was the best, much better than the first one, except the first ones Welcome to the Machine.

A level that when playing in hard mode, coincidentally is completedly in almost the exact same time that it takes to listen to the Pink Floyd song of the same name. Also hardest stage in the series. I memorized every turn and enemy placement. Easy to see what I mean about cheap deaths.

excellent example of the insane difficulty sometimes presented in the game, also one of the coolest songs in the game as well. Yes, falling in that stage sets you two stages back. Skyway> Sky Tides> Tubes of Medusa.
The second game also featured an adaptive difficulty when playing in normal. The game adjusted the difficulty to how well you played. Harder shortened your air time, decreased your life, made enemies harder, the oblig for adaptive difficulty. What this game did though not many others did not, if any have done it prior, was to add or remove level, even going as far as to adjust a levels length.

I loved Sonic games on the Gen, but these two games, Ecco, and Ecco The Tides of Time, were my second runners.

I collect genesis games (the actual carts) so it won’t be a big deal to either pick this one up or get a copy in a game lot.

The games you list are good though. (Except mutant league hockey. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’ve just never played it.)

Everyone who liked/likes genesis should collect the games. They are usually way cheaper than SNES and their boxes have the hard clam shell cases and so getting a boxed copy is easy as pie.
