Cuz Hybrids are awesome. Without them we wouldn't have such a selection to choose from and seeing the same exact species (Pegasus, Unicorn and Earth Pony) with absolutely no variety to species gets boring after a while.


 
Adding in multiple species and sub species opens up a lot of potential and variety. And creating your own species gives you the chance to put your own story behind them, like how they were created, evolved, etc. [spoiler]||as long as it isnt cringey[/spoiler]
